Our King; CPT Brian Brennan
Serving as King at the February 4th, 2012 Royal Bal Masque will be U. S. Army Captain Brian Brennan – a 2006 Citadel graduate, an Operation Enduring Freedom combat veteran, and the founder of the Brennan Stands Alone Foundation which helps those injured in the line of duty better focus on treatment and rehabilitation (www.brennanstandsalone.org).
While leading a patrol in Afghanistan in 2008, Brennan and a fellow soldier were severely injured and two soldiers and a civilian were killed after an IED exploded under their humvee. Brennan suffered cardiac arrest, multiple fractures, and traumatic brain injury. Returning home a double amputee, Brennan’s courage and determination have been keys to his “miraculous” recovery. Through his foundation, Brennan has shared his inspirational story and eased the burden of stress for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.
